Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), J&K 2019-20
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) invites applications for Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) 2019-20 from students in J&K. Launched in the academic year 2011-12, the scholarship aims to support the youth of J&K in pursuing higher education outside the state. It facilitates the access of quality education to students so as to equip them with knowledge, skills, experience and training for higher academic level/profession. Students selected for PMSSS can benefit from a scholarship of up to INR 3 lakh per annum along with other grants. PMSSS is a merit-based scholarship for the J&K youth only.
To be eligible, an applicant must -
• Students who are the domiciles of the state of J&K
• Students who have passed 10+2 exam from the J&K Board (JKBOSE) or CBSE affiliated schools located in J&K
• Students who have passed 10+3 Diploma from the J&K State Polytechnic for admission directly in the second year in the prescribed list of Colleges against on the vacant seats of the previous year
• Students having an annual family income of less than INR 8 lakh
Note: The following are not eligible for the scholarship-
• Students who do not apply through online registration on AICTE Portal
• Students enrolled in courses offered by Open University
• Students availing benefits from any other Govt./Non-Govt scheme
• Students who joined a college other than those in AICTE Portal
• Students taking admission through agents or NGOs
• Students pursuing any postgraduate programme
• Students absent during the counselling
The following documents are required:
• Domicile certificate of J&K
• Family Income Certificate (Issued by Tehsildar or equivalent)
• Aadhaar card
• Class 10th mark sheet
• Class 12th mark sheet
• Diploma Certificate (for lateral entry only)
• Valid Caste certificate for SC/ST/SEBC for claiming the reservation as per State Govt. Policy
• Valid disability certificate (if any)
